Xpeng Restructures Exports: In 2026, the Company Will Establish Local Supply Chains in Europe and ASEAN

Chinese automaker Xpeng intends to seriously restructure its operations outside its home market. According to Yicaire, in 2026 the company plans to set up independent localized supply-chain units in two directions at once: in Europe and in ASEAN countries. This move is tied to plans to launch local production: the start of such projects is scheduled for 2025 in Europe and Southeast Asia.

The idea behind the initiative is to “land” overseas procurement and logistics more deeply, support the work of foreign suppliers, and make the entire supply chain more responsive. In other words, Xpeng wants to react faster to market needs while simultaneously advancing its long-term strategy of localized vehicle production abroad. The report provides no details on the structure of the new units or the rollout timeline.

Over the past two years, the brand has noticeably accelerated its international expansion and does not hide its ambitions: over the next decade, it expects to generate about half of its sales in foreign markets. Back in December, the company signed an agreement for localized assembly in Malaysia. This is Xpeng’s second localized manufacturing project in the Asia-Pacific region and its third worldwide, with mass production there planned for 2026. In addition, last week Xpeng completed trial production of the updated P7+ sedan at a plant in Austria.

The statistics also point to growth: according to CnEVPost, in 2025, 45,008 vehicles were delivered abroad, 96% more than a year earlier, accounting for about 10% of annual deliveries. Meanwhile, 36Kr claims that in 2026 Xpeng plans to double overseas sales. At an internal strategic meeting, the company allegedly set a 2026 target of 550,000–600,000 deliveries, and this year it intends to launch four new models. By the end of 2025, Xpeng’s footprint had expanded to 60 countries and regions, and the 2026 plan implies growth of about 28.1–39.7% (source: cnevpost.com).
