While the Moskvich M70 and M90 2026 have not yet reached dealers, the Moscow plant is focusing on final validation testing: the upcoming crossovers are being driven over surfaces typical for Russia and checked in local climate conditions. Only after that do they promise to bring the models from the new “M” series to market, and the timeline has already been set: spring 2026.

A separate nuance concerns the drivetrain of the more compact M70. The plant confirms that an all-wheel-drive version is planned, but it will not appear right away. At the start of sales, buyers will be offered only the front-wheel-drive variant, and an expansion of the lineup is expected later.
Assembly of the new-family crossovers itself began in mid-December 2025. It includes two vehicles: the compact-format M70 and the larger M90, designed for seven seats and announced with all-wheel drive. At the same time, by origin both cars are linked to the MG brand: the M70 mirrors the MG HS, which is officially sold in Russia, and the M90 is a twin of the flagship RX9 (photo: “Moskvich”).
In terms of engineering, the manufacturer speaks of a new platform, turbocharged 1.5- and 2.0-liter engines, and a nine-speed gearbox, but without specifying the type of transmission and without concrete output figures. Previously, Moskvich’s model range was limited to four vehicles created on the basis of different JAC models: the 3, 3e, the 8, and the 6 sedan.
