In China, They Promised to Launch the First Unmanned Logistics Vehicle with a Full Regulatory System as Early as 2026

On December 29, IT House reported on an event held the day before in Zhengzhou. It was the 2025 China Ecological Conference on Unmanned Vehicles, dedicated to the theme of new energy. At one of the specialized sub-forums, where autonomous solutions for logistics were discussed, Wang Handzhi, who serves as Deputy Director at White Rhino Zhida (Beijing), spoke. According to him, as early as the beginning of 2026, the industry should begin commissioning the first unmanned logistics vehicle that will be fully equipped with a regulatory system.

At the same time, IT House looked up publicly available data on White Rhino Zhida (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. The company was registered on March 13, 2019, and its co-founders include Zhu Lei and Xia Tian, who previously were part of Baidu’s core autonomous-driving team. The developer’s main focus is L4-level solutions. Practical application is aimed at the “last mile” in the city—that is, delivery of retail goods on open urban roads. Among the foundational developments mentioned are an intelligent dispatching system for unmanned vehicles and fusion perception technology that combines data from multiple sensors at once.

At the same time, the market is not limited to a single player. It is noted that a number of Chinese manufacturers are also actively preparing unmanned logistics platforms. For example, Neolithic unmanned vehicles plans to debut its main lineup and new products at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, to be held January 6–9, 2026, and at the same time present AI-based urban distribution solutions for international partners and representatives of the “green” agenda.

There is also news on specific models. Jingdong Logistics’ sixth-generation intelligent delivery vehicle is called the “lone wolf”: it supports L4 autonomy and is designed for a payload of up to 1,000 kg. And in August, Jiushi Intelligent announced the first vehicle in its new L series—the L5 model, capable of carrying 1,800 kg, which, the company emphasizes, is noticeably higher than the maximum figures for most counterparts on the market (source: ithome.com).
