Huawei and GAC Unveiled the First Qijing Station Wagon with L3-Ready Autopilot: Deliveries Scheduled for June 2026

The state-owned automaker from Huawei and Guangzhou has unveiled the first car under the new Qijing brand. The debut model is made in the format of a shooting brake sports wagon and belongs to the NEV class. The manufacturer immediately emphasizes the “smart” hardware: a driver-assistance system is claimed, prepared for operation at Level L3 (L3-ready). In the home market, the new model should appear as early as this year, with the start of deliveries scheduled for June 2026.

The name Qijing itself can be translated as “Venue,” and the brand was created as part of the GAC–Huawei collaboration. The project was put under the leadership of Liu Jiamin—his appointment took place on September 25. Earlier this month, brand representatives had already revealed that the first model would be a wagon, and now those words have been backed up with the car’s unveiling.

The premiere took place in a video on Qijing’s official Weibo page. In the footage, the car was tested for handling by Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solutions (BU), and Qijing head Liu Jiamin. According to them, the model uses Huawei’s latest ADAS technology, which is categorized as an L3-ready solution.

Top executives claim that in terms of aesthetics, dynamics, and “intelligence,” the wagon is comparable to cars priced at around 1 million yuan—in China, this segment includes the Maextro S800 and the Yangwang U8. At the same time, the expected price of the Qijing is noticeably lower: about 300,000 yuan.

The new model’s exterior features a sloping hood line, a large active air intake in the front bumper, and a roof-mounted lidar. Also noted are conventional side mirrors, sculpted rear fenders, 20-inch ten-spoke wheels, and streamlined door handles that comply with current regulatory requirements. A charging-port flap is visible on the left rear fender—meaning the showcased example is equipped with a BEV powertrain. The use of an 800-volt architecture for fast DC charging is also possible. Competitors include the Zeekr 007 GT and the Nio ET5 Touring (source: carnewschina.com).
