GAC Unveiled the AION UT in Hong Kong and Strengthened “Hong Kong ACTION” as Part of the Globalization of “One GAC 2.0”

In Hong Kong, the new GAC AION UT 2026 was officially unveiled. This move became yet another confirmation that the group is consistently implementing the so-called “Hong Kong actions” as part of the global “One GAC 2.0” strategy. According to the local transport authority, GAC electric vehicles have been holding a spot in the city market’s top three best-sellers for many months. And if we take the period from January to November of the current year, the brand’s total sales allowed it to enter the top five largest players in Hong Kong.

For a new stage of its presence, AION UT chose a symbolic location on the Victoria Harbour waterfront. This place is considered one of the key attractions and at the same time a “showcase” of the city, which traditionally connects Hong Kong with the rest of the world. The company emphasizes that the international image of Victoria Harbour resonates with the idea of AION UT’s “fashionable intelligence” and demonstrates the importance of the region as a strategic market for right-hand-drive vehicles.

Let us recall that in June 2025, at the Hong Kong International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo, GAC announced the launch of the “Hong Kong ACTION” program. It is aimed at comprehensive changes in several areas at once: the product lineup, dealer channels, service, energy infrastructure, and the travel ecosystem. After the initiative started, the brand began actively developing all of these elements, trying to integrate into the pace and needs of the мегаполис.

AION UT itself is positioned as a “super symbol” of a new era: a design tailored to urban aesthetics, transformable space for solo trips and family scenarios, convenient intelligent functions, and an expanded set of safety solutions. Designer Zhang Fang уточнил that the project was overseen by the Milan design center: the focus is on the advantages of a compact body, preserving the “classic” refinement of small cars while delivering noticeably richer sensations.
