On December 23, Chinese media reported an expansion of the popular Dongfeng Fengxing Thunder 2026 lineup. However, this is not about a whole scattering of new products: for now, the “expanded” series includes only one version, and its price on the domestic market is 129,900 yuan.

On the outside, the car has been noticeably simplified and “freshened up.” The designers abandoned the large black trim along the edges of the front lighting, while the split-headlight layout has been retained. The design of the grille under the front surround has also been revised—now it looks different and comes across as more concise. The body dimensions are 4600/1860/1700 mm, and the wheelbase is 2715 mm. It is emphasized separately that the length has increased by 30 mm.
The rear has not been left without attention either. The main emphasis is on the taillights: the manufacturer has returned to a full-width light solution, as on the 2023 model. Decorative grooves were added on the sides, and the lower part of the rear end was reworked so that the overall silhouette looks more fashionable.
In the cabin, the key element is the enlarged 14.6-inch central screen. At the same time, the separate instrument display has been abandoned, and the overall layout has become closer to that of “clean” electric vehicles.
The technical side is built around a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine. The system’s combined output is 120 kW and 240 N·m. The range in pure electric mode under the CLTC cycle is stated at 230 km—this should be enough for the city and short trips. The drive is rear-wheel, the layout is single-motor, and the fuel consumption when fed is 5.4 liters per 100 km. A Xinwangda lithium iron phosphate battery is installed: fast charging from 30 to 80% takes 30 minutes, and an external discharge of 3.3 kW is also provided (source: ithome.com).
