Dongan Power Successfully Launched the New-Generation 1.5-Liter M15NTH Hybrid Turbo Engine

Chinese media report that on December 25, Dongan Power announced the successful start-up of a new-generation hybrid special-purpose engine designated M15NTH. The tests were conducted at a research institute specializing in power-supply systems for extended-range vehicles. At 8:57 a.m. in the test hall, R&D staff observed the first start: after the button was pressed, the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine based on the M15NTH platform started normally and ran smoothly, without failures.

The manufacturer emphasizes that the M15NTH belongs to a new “energy” line of hybrid engines and is considered another development within a dedicated engine platform. The design employs a set of solutions aimed at stable output and efficiency. These include a deep Miller cycle, a fully variable oil pump, an electric water pump, EGR cooling, and a VVT system on the intake. In addition, engineers refined the compression ratio and cylinder parameters, revised the combustion-chamber geometry, and improved gas-exchange characteristics.

It is also noted separately that technical solutions such as an optimized intake, “mirror” valves, and an integrated TVD are used, which should collectively increase thermal efficiency. The engine also предусматривает pairing with direct fuel injection under pressure: according to the project plan, the platform can be expanded to ultra-high pressure. Compliance is claimed with national and European Seven emissions standards, as well as the possibility of upgrading and reusing the company’s existing products (source: ithome.com).
